- One of the variants of the Object 430 medium-tonnage tank project with a rear-mounted engine was the Object 430U. Its distinguishing feature was a transverse engine position and the use of two planetary transmissions.
- This technical solution allowed for the creation of a tank with a more spacious interior and a lighter weight. The tank project was developed from 1953 to 1957 as a possible replacement for the T-54, but work was suspended in 1961 in favor of another project, the Object 432.
