Product Description
32. When determining the catalytic activity of lipase isolated from sunflower seeds during triolein hydrolysis in the presence and absence of an inhibitor, the following data were obtained:
S, mM 1.5 2.0 3.0 4.0 8.0 16.0
Product yield, mg/min 0.63 0.72 0.84 0.99 1.2 1.35
Product yield in the presence of an inhibitor, mg/min 0.14 0.16 0.21 0.24 0.28 0.33
Based on these data, determine graphically – by the Lineweaver-Burk method – the constants of the Michaelis-Menten equation (Km and Vmax) for this preparation in the presence and absence of an inhibitor. Determine the type of inhibition.
