Product Description

1. To prepare a standard zirconium solution, a sample of ZrOCl2*8H2O weighing 0.1234 g was dissolved in hydrochloric acid and the volume of the solution was brought to 200.0 ml. 5.00 ml of the standard solution was taken into a 50.00 ml volumetric flask, zirconin reagent was added, diluted to the mark with water and the optical density was measured, A = 0.480. A sample of zirconium alloy weighing 0.1234 g was dissolved in a mixture of acids and the solution was brought to 100.0 ml. An aliquot of 5.00 ml was taken into a 50 ml volumetric flask, zirconin was added and brought to the mark. The optical density was measured under the same conditions as the standard solution, A = 0.434. Calculate the mass fraction of zirconium in the alloy.
