Product Description
8. Using the data from the previous problem, determine the distribution coefficient of salicylic acid between water and benzene.
Data from the previous problem:
7. When distributing salicylic acid between water and benzene at 293 K, the following data were obtained:
C1 0.0363 0.0940 0.210
C2 0.0184 0.0977 0.329
Here C1 and C2 are the equilibrium acid concentrations (in mol/l) in the aqueous and benzene layers, respectively. Prove that the molecular state of salicylic acid in water and benzene is not the same.
