The fourth game in the METAL GEAR series, Metal Gear Solid 2 is divided into two chapters.
The first chapter, Tanker, sees Solid Snake sneaking onto a secret tanker to retrieve a top-secret nuclear weapon codenamed Metal Gear.
The second chapter, Plant, sees Raiden, a member of the new FOXHOUND unit, go undercover to infiltrate a terrorist-held plant offshore.

This game introduces new gameplay features, including first-person weapon use, targeting, and grabbing and dragging enemies.

In addition, exclusive digital content has been added, the Screenplay Book and Master Book, which detail the story and characters of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
