Script for an interactive map of Federal districts of Russia with administrative centers, borders, and the ability to select them for the site.

The script is a map of Russia consisting of 7 Federal districts (currently, there are eight Federal districts in the Russian Federation):

Southern
Central
northwest
Privolzhsky
Ural
Siberian
far-East

When the mouse cursor hovers over a Federal district, it is highlighted within its borders. Each Federal district is represented by its main regions (subjects of the Russian Federation). When you move the mouse cursor on the map, the names of the capitals of the main regions included in the Federal district and their location appear, as well as the entire Federal district that includes this region (a subject of the Russian Federation).

Below the map is a list with the names of Federal districts in the form of links. When you hover over the links, the corresponding Federal district is highlighted on the map, and the name of its administrative center appears.

The map size is fixed, without the ability to increase, such as in GooleMaps or Yandex Maps. The map does not contain the "Republic of Crimea" and the Federal city of Sevastopol, which in 2016 became part of the "southern Federal district". Also, the presented map does not show the "North Caucasus Federal district", which is actually shown as part of the" southern Federal district", i.e. as part of it. At the moment, the "North Caucasian FO "is a separate, eighth FO, which was separated from the"southern FO".
If you have a basic knowledge of html and javascript, you can fix the existing shortcomings yourself.

As such, there are no special settings for the map. You can make all changes yourself by studying the map code in more detail, for example, changing the color of Federal district borders.
