## 1. Tool Introduction

**WinOptimizer** is a utility for managing and optimizing certain Windows operating system settings. The program may modify performance settings, visual effects, system registry configurations, and network parameters.

Due to the nature of these operations, the program should be used carefully and only after creating a backup.

## 2. Supported Systems

Recommended system configuration:

- Windows 10 (preferably 64-bit / x64)
- Windows 11 (preferably 64-bit / x64)
- A user account with **Administrator** privileges
- Windows PowerShell and standard .NET Framework components enabled

The program may not work properly on the following systems:

- Outdated Windows versions
- Lite or modified Windows builds
- Windows PE environments
- Some Windows Server editions, such as Server Core
- Corporate workstations restricted by AppLocker or WDAC policies

## 3. Before Running the Program

Before using the program, complete the following steps:

1. Download the file only from an official and trusted source.
2. Create backups of important files and documents.
3. Close all active third-party applications.
4. If using a laptop, connect it to a power source.
5. If you use a VPN or Proxy, record the current network settings.
6. Ensure that at least one network adapter is active.
7. Do not run other system tweaking or cleaning utilities at the same time.

## 4. Correctly Running the Program

### Unblocking a Downloaded File

If the file was downloaded from the Internet:

1. Right-click the file.
2. Select **Properties**.
3. At the bottom of the window, if available, enable **Unblock**.
4. Click **Apply**, then click **OK**.

### Running as Administrator

1. Right-click the `WinOptimizer.exe` file.
2. Select **Run as administrator**.
3. In the User Account Control (UAC) window, click **Yes**.

Some operations cannot be performed without administrator privileges because the program interacts with the `HKLM` registry branch, system services, and the network stack.

## 5. Creating a Backup

Before applying any tweaks, always create a backup:

1. Open the program as Administrator.
2. Click **Create Backup** or the equivalent backup option.
3. Wait for the process to complete.
4. Record the location of the folder containing the saved backups.
5. Copy the backup files to an external drive or a separate folder.

Files similar to the following may be created:

Master_Backup_HKCU.reg
Master_Backup_HKLM.reg
```

Do not delete backup files until you are completely sure that the system is stable and functioning correctly.

> **Warning:** A backup file is intended only for the system on which it was created and must not be restored on another computer.

1. Create a backup first.
2. Apply one optimization function.
3. Wait for the operation to finish.
4. Review the log or report in the program window.
