Product Description

2. To analyze cast iron for its sulfur content, we took a sample of 5.904 g and dissolved it in hydrochloric acid. The hydrogen sulfide released from the iron sulfide was distilled off and absorbed with a solution of cadmium salt, then the cadmium sulfide was treated with an excess of copper sulfide solution and the resulting copper sulfide precipitate was calcined. In this case, 0.0732 g of calcined sediment of copper (II) oxide was obtained. Calculate the mass fraction as a percentage of sulfur in cast iron.
