Product Description
The interface between two media is a sphere of a certain radius (Fig. 141). The first medium is air, the second is glass, the refractive index of which is n. A narrow beam of rays, parallel to one of the diameters of the sphere, falls on the interface from the side of the first medium. Find the point of convergence of the rays in the second medium, knowing that a thin plane-convex lens, made of the same glass and having a radius of curvature of the convex surface the same as the interface, has a focal length F. The angles between the incident and refracted rays are considered small.
