Product Description
Two closed vessels, partially filled with mercury, are connected by a tube (Fig. 69). The vessels contain air at temperature T0 and pressure P0. The mercury levels in the vessels are located at a distance H from the lids. Then the air in vessel 2 is heated to a certain temperature, and the air pressure in vessel 1 is doubled. Determine to what temperature the air in vessel 2 was heated. The ratio of the cross-sectional areas of the vessels is S1/S2 = 2. The density of mercury is equal to p. Neglect the mercury vapor pressure.
