Product Description

4. The molar light absorption coefficients of 8-hydroxyquinolates of cobalt (II) and nickel (II) in a solution of hydrochloric acid - acetone are equal to λeff = 365 nm εCo = 3530, εNi = 3230. At λeff = 700 nm, light is absorbed only by cobalt hydroxyquinolate εCo = 429. Precipitates of cobalt and nickel hydroxyquinolates were obtained from 10 ml of the test solution, dissolved in 25 ml of a mixture of hydrochloric acid and acetone, and the optical density was measured at 365 and 700 nm in a cuvette l = 1.0 cm. Calculate the concentration (μg/ml) of cobalt and nickel in solution: A365=0.820; A700=0.083.
