Product Description
8. Calculate the enthalpy of combustion of methane at 1000 K, if the enthalpy of formation at 298 K is given:
ΔfH*(CH4) = -17.9 kcal/mol,
ΔfH*(СО2) = -94.1 kcal/mol,
ΔfH*(H2O) = -57.8 kcal/mol.
The heat capacities of gases (in cal*mol-1*K-1) in the range from 298 to 1000 K are equal to:
Cp(CH4) = 3.422 0.0178*T, Cp(O2) = 6.095 0.0033*T,
Ср(СО2) = 6.369 0.0102*Т, Ср(Н2О(g)) =7.188 0.0024*Т
ΔfH*(CH4) = -17.9 kcal/mol,
ΔfH*(СО2) = -94.1 kcal/mol,
ΔfH*(H2O) = -57.8 kcal/mol.
