A plane of the Russian airline Aeroflot-Russian Airlines carried out cargo transportation along the Moscow-Tokyo route with a stop in Vladivostok for refueling. By tragic accident, the plane, not reaching Vladivostok, crashed, as a result of which the cargo was destroyed.
Define the rules of law on the basis of which the cargo owner (insurer) must base its claims on receipt of compensation for losses from the carrier. Russia and Japan are parties to the Warsaw Convention to unify certain rules relating to international air transportation of 1929 (as amended by the 1955 Protocol).
